One of our goals at Play On is to make kid's health and fitness resources available to parents to help them in their pursuit for encouraging a healthy lifestyle for their children.
While there is vast amounts of information relating to childhood obesity, essentially if children eat sensibly and enjoy being physically active, they are well on their way to leading a healthy lifestyle.
Below are two different resources that I believe are beneficial to parents. Keep an eye out as we add more in the future.
1. The first is a brochure developed by the Federal Government called "Australia's Physical Activity Recommendations for 5-12 year olds".
2. The second is a booklet describing the cues that Play On uses to help develop children's fundamental movement skills. This is a great resource for you to use when playing with your child in the backyard, because the cues are easy to demonstrate and we've found that children remember them.
